New Orleans is know around the world for the music, food, unique culture, and its annual celebrations and festivals. The French Quarter features beautiful architecture and vibrant nightlife along Bourbon Street, which hosts Mardi Gras, an annual festival that brings huge crowds.
The food in New Orleans has influences from French and Spanish Creole cooking. The city is full of restaurants with their take on Cajun and Creole cuisines. It would take a lifetime to visit them all. Here are my favorites from the restaurants that I have visited so far.
Ruby Slipper Cafe – Central Business District
Stop here for breakfast on my last visit and was delighted by the food. The cheezy grits were amazing and I am pickey with my grits. The waitress was very nice and answers all of our questions. I took her suggestions and wow she has good taste.

On my first visit to New Orleans, I was given a recommendation to give Cafe Amelie a try. We ate in the courtyard because the weather was perfect. The great staff and delicious food combined to make this a execelent expienence.

Everything I had here was off the charts. The crab cakes were massive and packed with meat. The fish tasted super fresh and was cooked to perfection. I could eat here everyday if it were possible.

This place is fancy and has the most wonderful food that you have to try. Looking for a pro tip? Have dinner on the terrace if it’s nice outside. The pasta was incredible. I had the shrimp and crawfish fettuccine, which was my favorite dinner I ate on my trip. The staff was frendly and made us feel welcomed.
